In Hindu tradition, Kali is the dark mother — fierce, tender, and widely misunderstood. She is the goddess of transformation, the destroyer not of people but of illusion. She clears away what no longer serves us, not with cruelty, but with a love so fierce it refuses to let us stay small. She doesn’t promise easy. She promises real.
I chose her name because I recognized something true in her.
I’m Chelsea. I’m a Psychiatric Mental Health Board Certified RN, and over the last decade I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside people in some of their most vulnerable moments — as a psychiatric nurse, a crisis intervention instructor for four years, and a nurse clinical instructor for six. Teaching has always been at the heart of what I do. Long before this blog existed, I was finding ways to take complex clinical knowledge and make it feel human, approachable, and actually useful.
Kali Healing Mind grew out of that same impulse. Because the tools that help people heal — understanding your nervous system, learning to communicate with honesty and care, recognizing the ways your body holds what your heart hasn’t said yet — shouldn’t be locked inside clinical settings. They belong in everyday life, written in plain language, offered with warmth.
If you’ve found your way here, I believe it means something. Healing has a way of leading us exactly where we need to go.
I’m honored to be part of your path. Take your time. Look around. You belong here.
